American composer, pianist and comedian, born 26 December 1921 in New York City, New York, USA and died 30 October 2000 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Allen is best known as a talk show pioneer and for hosted numerous radio & TV shows including Tonight show and later The Steve Allen Show. Allen also supposedly wrote more than 7,000 songs and composed a few scores for film and television. Married to Jayne Meadows.
